MDeverywhere to Provide TriZetto's First Handheld Charge Capture ASP Solution
RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. – April 30, 2001 – MDeverywhere(TM), the mobile computing platform providing healthcare solutions at the point-of-care, today announced a strategic alliance with The TriZetto(R) Group, Inc. (NASDAQ: TZIX), an information technology and services company focused on the healthcare industry.
The partnership enables TriZetto to offer MDeverywhere's premier mobile services to TriZetto's ASP and HealthWeb(R) customer base and expand its application solutions to include mobile charge capture computing.
Through the alliance, TriZetto's physician and administrator customers will have access to MDeverywhere's lead application, EveryCharge(SM), a Personal Digital Assistant-based electronic charge-capture tool with a proprietary rules engine that error checks charges at the point-of-care. Doctors capture diagnoses, treatments and other patient encounter data, and the data is sent through a secure Internet portal to the physician's practice management system, hosted by TriZetto. TriZetto's application service provider (ASP) model affords users all of the benefits of cutting edge technology without the costs and responsibilities inherent in owning, customizing and running software applications and infrastructure.
"We could not be more pleased that TriZetto, the most respected ASP provider in the healthcare community, has selected us to be their first handheld offering for capturing and checking charges," says Alan Rubin, president and CEO of MDeverywhere. "TriZetto's ASP technology and integration experience combined with our mobile handheld solution will offer extraordinary value to physician and group practice customers."
MDeverywhere has completed two impressive independent return on investment (ROI) studies that show MDeverywhere services are able to return between 577 percent and 989 percent through more accurate record keeping, fewer denied claims and reduced administrative costs.
"We are continuously seeking proven applications that help physicians streamline their practices," says Stewart Gleischman, M.D., vice president of strategic market development for TriZetto. "The recent ROI studies validate the significance of MDeverywhere's solution to the healthcare community, and we share MDeverywhere's philosophy that charge capture will drive physician adoption and serve as the platform of choice for multi-functional mobile computing."
