Presbyterian Health Plan Chooses TriZetto's
HealthWeb Internet Platform

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. – May 8, 2001 – The TriZetto(R) Group, Inc., (Nasdaq: TZIX), today announced that Presbyterian Health Plan (PHP) of New Mexico has selected TriZetto's HealthWeb(R) Internet platform. HealthWeb will allow PHP to conduct business over the Internet with its affiliated physicians, members, employers and brokers.

"Our agreement with Presbyterian Health Plan demonstrates the benefits of implementing HealthWeb via the ASP delivery model: fast implementation time, ongoing technical support, and an attractive, predictable pricing structure," says Gail Knopf, chief operating officer of TriZetto's HealthWeb unit.

TriZetto will provide the HealthWeb platform to PHP, which serves more than 275,000 members in all 33 counties in New Mexico, on an application service provider (ASP) basis. For a predictable monthly fee, PHP will access HealthWeb's proprietary Internet features and transaction capabilities, without the large upfront and ongoing costs of developing, implementing, maintaining and upgrading its own Internet system.

Using HealthWeb, providers, members, employers and brokers are able to conduct numerous transactions with health plans quickly and easily via the Internet, including:

  • Eligibility and coverage inquiry
  • Provider network directory
  • Preauthorization information inquiry
  • Claim status inquiry
  • Referral information inquiry
  • Enrollment
  • Member data maintenance
  • Primary care physician (PCP) selection/change
"We are advancing our Internet strategy because our customers are telling us that they would like us to be more accessible to them. They would like to e-mail us, they would like to get information about doctors online; and they would like to have access to important information 24 hours per day. We are implementing this new technology to help our members navigate healthcare through our health plan in a more convenient fashion," said David Scrase, M.D., president of Presbyterian Health Plan.
