TriZetto to Provide HealthWeb Internet Solution For Health Plans Operated by HealthNow New York

HealthWeb Customers Serve More than 20 Million Members Nationwide

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. – July 10, 2001 – The TriZetto(R) Group, Inc. (Nasdaq: TZIX) has contracted with HealthNow New York Inc. to provide an Internet solution combining TriZetto's HealthWeb(R) Internet platform and the Erisco Facets(R) payer administrative solution. HealthNow New York, a BlueCross BlueShield licensee that provides healthcare coverage to approximately 750,000 New Yorkers, currently uses Facets for a wide range of administrative functions. The addition of TriZetto's HealthWeb platform will allow HealthNow New York to rapidly expand online services to its members, providers, employers and brokers.

"This is a significant step because the integration of the two TriZetto offerings will extend the investment we have made in Facets to our rapidly growing online operations."

HealthNow New York, a $1.25 billion-revenue company, operates BlueCross BlueShield of Western New York, BlueShield of Northeastern New York, and Upstate Medicare Division. HealthNow New York offers PPO, POS, HMO and indemnity plans.

"Facets is used by approximately one third of Blue Cross Blue Shield plans nationwide," Knopf says. "The combined HealthWeb/Facets product can be rapidly integrated with their existing systems, allowing these health plans to implement a comprehensive Internet solution."

HealthNow New York will use the system to move to a Web-based business model for a variety of transactions among the company's various health plans and the plans' members, physicians, employers and brokers, including inquiries about eligibility and coverage, ID card requests, and other transactions.
