TriZetto Announces Enhancements to
Qiclink Administrative Software

Includes New Functionality For Consumer-Directed Products, Updated Look And Feel

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. – August 6, 2003 – The TriZetto Group, Inc. (Nasdaq: TZIX), announced new enhancements to QicLink™, enterprise software that automates and simplifies the claims payment process for benefits administrators. The improved system will support health reimbursement arrangements (HRAs) and give health plan members direct access to the benefits administrator's back office information via the Internet. TriZetto is also updating QicLink's user interface with Windows-based displays and a Web-based browser, which are intuitive and easy to navigate.

TriZetto is providing this new functionality to help its customers stay ahead of trends in the employer benefits market. Over the past several years, employers have shifted more of the cost of health benefits to employees, who in turn are demanding better customer service and more information about their care. To succeed in the future, benefits administrators will need more sophisticated technology to automate work processes, reduce costs and make it easy for consumers to navigate the healthcare system.

Using QicLink, benefits administrators can increase efficiency and become more consumer-friendly at the same time. Inside the organization, QicLink will fully automate claims processing across the multiple, complex funding sources that feed new consumer-directed plans. These sources may include not just an employer-funded HRA, but also major medical coverage and a pre-tax medical reimbursement account, which the employee funds. To increase member satisfaction with the HRA, QicLink will support online tracking of individual and family healthcare expenses and will also provide Internet access to health resources for better decision-making. For instance, consumers can review provider networks, obtain prescription and over-the-counter drug information, and access wellness and 'Ask a Nurse' programs online. Another benefit – the new QicLink user screens will provide benefits administrators with efficient, streamlined access to data for improved productivity and customer service.

"TriZetto is committed to providing technology that helps its customers negotiate a maze of rising costs, employer and consumer demands, and operational challenges," said Tony Bellomo, president of TriZetto's software unit. "The system will now be able to support the increasingly complex administration of consumer-directed products. Its new health reimbursement functionality and updated user interface are the kinds of improvements that will maintain QicLink's position as the leading enterprise software for benefits administrators."

QicLink is used by more than 230 healthcare organizations to process approximately 140 million medical claims annually, or 8 percent of all non-pharmacy claims processed in the U.S. Customers can license QicLink, or TriZetto can host and manage the system for customers in one of its data centers.

Availability

QicLink's HRA functionality will initially be available in September 2003. The new user interface will be rolled out in phases, beginning with enrollment, application processing and customer service functions, in December 2003. Additional interfaces for the remaining functions will initially be available in December 2004.
